Blog # 10 April 19 - 25

April is recognized a Genocide Awareness month at CHS. Why might a group use a policy of "ethnic cleansing" instead of "genocide"? How do you feel about "ethnic cleansing"? Does it make a difference? Should it be treated differently than a "genocide"?

  1. a group might use the term ethnic cleansing because it sounds less harsh than genocide. it doesnt really make a difference to mee which word they use. i dont really care they both mean the same thing, and no it shouldnt be treated differently than a genocide.

  2. Ethic cleansing was not as intense as the Genocides that happen before. Saturday, April 24th was the Armenian Genocide. Thousands were killed. The victims included from children to old people who could not defend themselves. A survivor of the genocide explained the situation as living disaster. Ethic cleansing that was carried by the Serbs left many with no homes. The victims of the Armenian Genocide and other similar genocides have gave the name to April. I feel that Ethic cleansing was very cruel and the name of Genocide Awareness should change to hate awareness month......I couldn't come up with anything better :D
