I dont't think there is ever a reason to go into war. I think war is a useless thing that kills inocent people. I think anyone who has ever lost someone close to them in war would agree. I don't think war solves anything. I think if everyone could get along and solve there problems with words it would be a better and more productive world. I don't mean to sound like a kindergarden teacher, but it COULD potentially work in the future. I hope we could help end war in the near future!
NO, I strongly believe that war cannot be justified by any means. Some people may argue that we go to war for peace, but that is like an oxymoron. War is a time of fear, madness, depression, evil, etc. War is driven by disagreement and hatred, and leads only to the harm or even loss of many lives. If only we could put aside our emotions and compromise, everything would be better. If people were not so greedy, war would not exist. If we were able to give up something for the well-being of the whole world, it would be a much better place. However, this is not the case for us. There have been many wars in the past and they continue to occur today. Civil wars occur within a country due to different values and/or beliefs. Why can’t we accept that not everyone has the same ideas as us? It is totally normal for people to have different ideas; there’s no reason to go fighting about it. Wars usually come out of extreme nationalism and arrogant superiority; hatred toward other nations and racism; greediness of money, land, and resources; disagreement on anything, such as how a country should be run, etc. If you think about it, these are all fairly stupid reasons to slaughter thousands if not millions of people. War concludes only when one side surrenders or gains victory. Then, a treaty, which I think is more like a forced agreement, is made. WHY start war when it’s going to end like this anyway? Do we really have to learn the same lesson the hard way every time? How many more lives do we need to lose until we realize that war is not the answer to anything? Agreement and peace could be made easily if we humans show some consideration and respect for others and willingness to do what can be done in order to prevent war. If we are unwilling to be selfless and understanding, we will never have the world peace that everyone desires.
I believe that the only reason countries go to war is for recognition and they are scared of other countries. I think that instead of war all the countries should help each other out in this recession. If all the countries can live in peace instead of fighting just to see who is the strongest country or who has the newest technology.
I 100% agree with christine on this. War is extremely barbaric and i believe that if the government has a problem with another country, they should be the ones that are going out to fight. However, defense in some circumstances is necessary. For example, during the Holocaust, i believe that the Jews definitely had the right to use war to fight back. However, when one looks at the picture, if the Germans never started the war, they would not need to fight back. Plus, fighting for rights is not a correct reason for war. Gandhi had the right idea that showed that people can get their voice out not by using force, but by showing how they feel. If war can be prevented, which it usually can, then it should never occur.
From my perspective, there is NEVER a good reason to go into war. Like Christine said, it is only acceptable when we are being attacked. War is only caused due to ending dispute over land, getting rid of a race or ethnicity, or to unify the country. Most wars come out with positive outcomes, but then have negative outcomes because of all the soldiers and people who had sacrificed their lives and suffered. War is made to attain peace. Although it is FAR from sustaining any sort of peace. For example, the abolition of slavery, which caused the Civil War, ended up with a positive outcome. It freed all slaves and descendents. It helped them to start a new life. Surely, the war was justified, if necessary to end slavery, but it was America's worst tragedy if slavery would have collapsed without the war. If humanity was a united race there would be no war, and everyone could talk it out, but unfortunately the world isn't that amiable.
i think that a country should go to war if they need to to protect themselves. for example they should have gone to war to stop hitler in the beggining, but the leauge of nations hesitated and didnt. its kinda like iraq... wen they bombed the twin towers,...i personally think.... that we should have just dropped some bombs on them or somin. if it killed bad people or if it killed good people if we did that in the beginning less people would have died than the number that has died now. we should have done it right away to make a statement that no one messes wit the u.s. and gets away with it. instead we hesitated and now all these people r dying and were in a giant hole. people may say well there is never a good reason to go to war, but i dont think people can just stand idley by and not do anything, thats like what the people did during the holocaust. also people may be like oooo non violent resistence like ghandi....or however you spell his name....dont get me wrong i think what he did was good and all and he changed the world drasticly by what he did,.... but look what it got him.....he dead, and tha people that were hitting and beating, and eventually killed him r still alive..,...maybe.......anyways if you dont wanna go to war you can sacrifice your life for the good of mankind like ghandi, but i personally enjoy living and if i have to bomb some people to protect me, my family, or my people i wont hesitate.
i thikn the only reason to ever go to war would be in self defense. for example when japan attaked pearl harbor without us doing anything that is when we should go to war. i feel as if there is always an alternitive besides war, but this is all the governments know.
I also agree totally with Christine on this topic. War puts all people, innocent or not, in danger's way. When the population votes a person to lead our country, that person should be qualified to talk with other country's leaders to resolve issues calmly and grounded without having to resort to weapons and cruelty. When Bush made the decision to invade Iraq, he had no justifiable reason to do so. He could have talked to the leader of Iraq, and our relations with the Eastern countries would not have been so utterly damaged as they are now. In Iraq innocent children, mothers, fathers, etc. are killed daily because our country thought we were helping them.
I really dont think there is ever a good enough reason to go to war. To many people die and its just stupid. The only reason a country should ever go to war is if they are defending their country; if another country attacked them 1st. Like right now in Iraq so many soilders have been killed its ridiculous.
The statement that war creates peace is a stupid one. Peace can't be created through war, it can only be created through peaceful settlements. War is a senseless idea that gets nothing accomplished whatsoever. People suffer from war, so I don't know how people have begun to believe that war is the answer and solution to all our problems. I do agree however, that we as a country should be ready to go to war, but we should never initiate it. That only makes our country look bad in my opinion. That's why our war in Iraq currently needs to come to a complete halt.
I believe that going to war can be justified in certain situations. If a country or nation threatens or attacks another country, then it's only fair that that country should be able to defend themselves. But if a country attacks someone and goes to war for no reason then it is wrong. War can be both good and bad for a country. The End.
I see no reason for going to war. War is wrong in any situations but one. It is the right thing to go into war to keep peace. For example, if a country is threating others and mobilizing its army, nations should join in and overthrow that country's government. There is a thought that states the world with no army will have peace. however, I don't agree with this idea. We should have armies protecting every county's borders because distrust is the strongest force that can't be defeated. Armies should be built to keep peace and avoid violence.
I believe that we do need war is some cases and i think that is the only way for people to realize what they did was serious. In other cases i feel they're better ways to resolve issues.I think that people don't give it as much attention and so they resort to the last thing which is war. America is all about change but how are we supposed to change if we don't speak up or do anything about it.
In my opinion, i feel that there is never a reason to go to war. In some cases you cant really help it. For example if you were being attacked then theres nothing you can really do about and we have to try the best we can to protect our people. I also agree with Lily that there are many other ways to solve things other than going to war and its not the solution to everything. You can talk about it and try to sort it out instead of using violence and killing innocent people who are just trying to help their own country. I feel that we need to make a stronger effort to try and stop all wars that we can and to make peace with everyone. I find it stupid what we go to war for and the outcome could be beneficial but its stupid when many innocent and brave people die for something thats not really necessary and we can live without it. To protect our people we should always be ready to fight in a war be we should not be the ones to start it.
no, i dont believe theres any reason to go to war. most wars are over territorial or religious disputes and neither one is worth risking the well-being of the human race. with instances of self-defense, its crucial to defend yourself. Remember, "the pen is sharper than the sword." :)
The one reason i think its ok to go to war, is if its a agreed thing, like if someone just bombed the U.S. out of nowhere that's messed up. When Pearl Harbor got bombed, the Japanese did it without mutual agreement.
i think the only time a war is acceptable is maybe a civil war. like when the north and the south fought in america for slave and state rights. i don't think the US will have a civil war in this day and age but maybe other countries could have civil wars. but all in all i think war is pain, agony, terror, annoying, depressing, fear, and a lot of other bad things. i think we should talk about problems the world or a country has before going into combat.
i dont think there is ever a good reason to go to war because there is always an alternative and that war is like last option. i that countries go to war way to often and for the most part instead of helpful it is harmful for both sides of the fight. so all in all i think war is bad and try to stay away from it as much as possible.
i do not think there is ever a reason to go to war, and it should be used as a very last resort. war puts everyone at risk, ruining families and destroying lives. though i do not agree with the war against terrorism in iraq as well as afghanistan, i believe terrorism is something that will not end without violence. if we pulled out of iraq, who knows how much more the world would be effected by terrorism. war should be avoided at all costs, but it can be justified when needed.
The simple answer is no because war is never to answer to anything and killing people is never warranted etc. etc. But if you think of war as a war against cancer or termites then it is completely necessary. There are also mini wars such as the war against bed head and becoming over weight. We must fight against all of those things to make our lives better. So as long as war does not involve killing and fighting with other people, war is necessary.
NO. I dont think there is ever a reason to go to war because I think its useless. All war ends up doing is killing innocent people who definitely dont deserve it. It just creates more problems and after millions get killed there is still the same issue. The only time I think its okay to fight back is when obviously your attacked. For example the civil war. Another example that kind of portrays this is the holocaust. There was absoulutely no reason and or explanation to kill all those jews.
i cannot not decide on the desicion if war is the answer, i belive that war should be the last resort and only if your country is seriously threatned or a allie is
